   Chose this plugin because it seems to do exactly what I need it to – however, after adding the widget and filling in the channel information, it keeps telling me „no items“. I thought it might be that there’s no recent video, but it also doesn’t work with the „random video“ option. Any ideas why that is?

      Well, that is really weird. I just tested YouTube Channel 0.1.3 on locally hosted WordPress 3.2.1 with your YT channel/user name, and got this:

      Thanks for support. Do you mean on image for background under video title, or something other? If so, just tweak in CSS background-image for h3.widget-title.

      I think version 1.0 and 1.1 fixed that issue by replacing deprecated get_rss() with fetch_feed() function.

      Now version 1.1 support playlists too. Just set playlist ID and check option to use playlist instead of channel.

            If you use HTML5 w/o controls, wait for 1.2, or use flash object until 1.2 (or apply fix for Ed until 1.2).

    When updated to 1.1, the HTML5 player is showing suggested videos, which includes ones that we would not like on our website http://www.neverthebride.com – is it possible to disable these from appearing? Also hide controls no longer works in HTML5.
    I reverted to the older version which is still working fine, but it would be great if you could fix this. I created a playlist to try and get around the problem but ‘No Items’ appeared, despite checking the Playlist ID from the URL. Any ideas?

       Can you please try version 1.1 and insert behind line 231

       in file youtube-channel.php new line with content

       if (!$usepl) { $yt_url = $yt_id; }

       , then please report is this problem with suggested videos is solved (I know that no-controls problem will be solved).

       About that playlist problem, please remove string PL in front of playlist ID, so actualy ID PLF36AAE6B3C75ABA1 becomes F36AAE6B3C75ABA1.

       It first solution solves your problem, I’ll publish version 1.2 with fixes and tweak to trim PL in front of playlist ID too.

    really love your plug-in – excellent work!

    i have the random feature turned on and it seems to work fine. one question – it appears to only grab more recent videos (like the last 20) – is it possible for the widget to go back even further (I have almost 300 videos)?

       YouTube Channel grabs video info from RSS feed. If YouTube can serve 300 videos in sin gle RSS, then we can randomise from all videos. Must to test and read, stay tuned.

    YOUTUBE „No Items“ Error – What is interesting about the issue is that I am finding on older youtube usernames regardless of views, it works fine. My newer username internetincomemag returns „No Items“ if I change it to any random username from any other channel, older account, it works fine and pulls the videos in. Using V1.2. Any thoughts.

       OK, I checked RSS url and noticed problem with option orderby. Try to enable new option Try to fix `No items` error in development version (just copy youtube-channel.php over existing file).

    Did not work for me. Here is the interesting part as I mentioned before. If I alternate my youtube usernames, they all work accept the one that is a few days or a week old. I think the problem is not with your widget but with the youtube service. Maybe accounts have to be a few weeks old or something. Please post if you have any new thoughts and again, thank you.

    Don’t use capital letters in the channel name. That was my issue with the videos not showing up.

       Well, my acocount on youtube channel was indeed created with capital letters. I tried to change but could not find how on you tube. I wouldn’t like to close it … for obious reasons. So, how to solve the no items problem ?????

          Just enter lowercase channel name in YouTube Channel plugin. You don’t need to change username on YouTube.

    I spent a lot of time trying to figure out HOW TO FIND THE PLAYLIST ID to put into the widget. I know it sounds simple but for casual YouTubers it can be a hunt for sure. Found this video and just thought it would come in handy for someone else who wants to display just certain playlists.

    Installed the plugin and added my widgets 3 of them and they are all playing from a different playlist but one thing I’ve discovered is that whenever I try to open any of the pages that has the plugin running while in Internet Explorer (I’m using version9) I get a script error message only referencing the videos in the widgets. Works fine in Firefox and Google Chrome but always crashes in IE.
    This worries me since so many people use IE as their primary browser. Here’s a page you can check out and see if it is happening to you.

    I uploaded a YouTube video to my channel today. It was the third. It shows up in YouTube but doesn’t show up when using this plugin. This YouTube video was on YouTube already. I downloaded it (with permission) and uploaded it to our channel. Again, it shows up in our YouTube channel fine. But when I tell it to display 3 different videos, it only rotates between the previous two.

    The „Items to fetch (min 1, max 50): “ does not work. Only shows 1 video regardless of the number I put in the box. Great plugin otherwise but I can’t use without it showing more videos. Is there a fix?

          Actualy, YTC shows only one video in sidebar but randomize which video will display from feed of min 1 and max 50 uploaded videos to channel.

          Displaying more than one video in same time is TODO, but not implemented yet.

       Hi Pavel. You experienced YouTube problem I called „time shift“ Actualy, in some reason (perhaps Time Zone related) YouTube don’t serve to RSS feed videos uploaded in last 23 hours (or maybe less). Now, January 3rd at 8:28 am I can see your Webees video in sidebar on your site.

    What a great Plugin indeed.

    Just one request.
    I’ve been using your plugin along with a menu and due to a flash-bug with the z-index I need the last parameter of the iframe to be set to &wmode=opaque.

    Below is the chunk I edit in order for this to work.

    <iframe title="YouTube video player" width="" height="" src="http://www.youtube.com/embed/&wmode=opaque" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen>

    It’ll be nice if you consider putting this in your next release.

    Hi Aleksandar!

    I have used the widget successfully before e.g http://tibetanwomen.org/aims-objectives

    However it does not work on the homepage and I don’t know why: http://tibetanwomen.org/

    It is instead showing your Youtube channel – maybe the default? But I have entered our correct Youtube user name… I have tried deleting cache / refreshing / deleting the widget and putting it back / updating the plug in…

       YTC do random video on every page load, but this does not mean that every time it displays different video (if less videos is set to grab, more same videos will show).

       Autoplay is not possible right now. When I switch YTC to swfobject, autoplay will be available, but no until then.

       Yes. You can style class .youtube_channel in theme CSS (that is container for YTC div).

          Thank you for your quick answer. I had tried that but the video or thumbnail does not want to center. I have tried both of the following but neither worked, do you know an alternative that will work?

             Well, .youtube_channel is class of containing DIV. So, you need to set margin to object/iframe/div of video/image. For image use this:

             .youtube_channel a div {
margin: 0 auto;
}

             To set width of object/igrame/image use YTC widget settings field width, don’t set size in css.

    Nice plugin!
    I have my youtube channel setup to include „favourites“ as well as uploaded videos. Is it possible for this plugin to display the latest video added to my channel, regardless of me uploading it, or it being a favourite?

    I setup the widget to open in a new window so that the customer would not leave my website. I played with several of the parameters and none seem to be working with this parameter. Instead, when I play the video it always goes to YouTube. How do I keep the customer in my website and it playing in my website?

    Hi there. Great work on the plugin – exactly what i was looking for! The only problem is, sometimes the widgets doesn’t pull a video through. There’s no error message, just an empty widget area. It isn’t every time but it is a little annoying. Any idea how I may be able to fix this?

    Hi – I have been using WP version 3.4.1 and the You Tube Channel version 1.4.0 for months now with absolutely no problem. Today, I noticed that, while the You Tube plug-in „title“ still shows up on the sidebar, the actual video box is gone. I deactivated and reactivated, but it is still the same problem. Browser makes no difference. Is there anything else I should do? Should I de-install, reinstall?

    Hi there. I’ve just a quick questione. Everything worked fine, but I uploaded a new video on my Youtube Channel (a week ago) but the plugin keep showing the previous one…do I have to select some option to make it show the latest one?

    This plugin is fantastic! There are many different ways you can use it if you get creative. I created 3 different playlists on youtube – one for Music, local events, and local sports. Then I search youtube for relevant videos and add them to one of my playlists. What you end up with is a list of your favorite videos that you can use on your web site.

    Then I placed a Youtube Channel widget on each page – music, news, and sports – and have it play a random video from the appropriate playlist. Now you have fresh content all the time, relevant to the content of the web page.

    Important Note: There seems to be a problem with the latest version 1.5. When used with WordPress 3.5.1 it breaks the widget admin page. I confirmed this by activating the Twenty Twelve theme with Youtube Channel 1.5 as the only active plugin. The widget page loads but is unresponsive. Downgrading to 1.4 solved the problem.
